What is the investment? +
The certification fee + your annual dues for Year 1 are $15,000. This is billed in quarterly payments of $3,750 over the course of the year. This covers your training resources, technology partner access, complete IP and Summits.
After the first year, you move to annual membership dues of $13,500 also billed quarterly.
What benefits to the annual dues cover? +
Coaches are offered a robust library of resources to access. This includes a content hub, on-going professional enrichment courses, global summits, marketing tool-kits, social media assets, and so much more. Read a more detailed list of those benefits here.
Resources and courses are updated throughout the year to ensure you have access to the latest and greatest thought-leadership, client management software, and strategic partnerships. Best of all, you're automatically tapped into one of the most collaborative and talented community of coaches on the planet.
Are the Summits included in my fees? +
Yes, your membership includes registration for our Coaches Summits (2 per year) as well as Verne Harnish’s Scaling Up Summit.
Will I get a Mentor? +
Yes! At Scaling Up Coaches, we believe in the power of our collective intelligence and collective experience. While in certification, you will be assigned a Mentor, who is a current Scaling Up Coach. This Mentor is a valuable resource who provides guidance on mastering the content and building your client base. You'll benefit from this opportunity to ask an experienced coach about their journey.
What do Scaling Up Coaches typically charge their clients? +
This is up to each individual coach. But many offer a monthly or an annual flat fee for their services. Some offer custom packages depending on the need. This is something you can discuss and evaluate with your Mentor.
Do you assign coaching territories? +
Coaches can choose where they would like to coach. We don’t limit geographies or give exclusivity to territories. Many coaches are now finding virtual coaching is a viable option.
How are new clients gained? Is it purely the initiative of the coach, or is it a collaborative business development process? +
Although you are ultimately responsible to build your client base, we have a robust system in place to field leads for you through our website, from Verne Harnish himself, and from various other marketing efforts. Leads that we collect are distributed to our coaches after an extensive internal vetting process. If we provide you with a lead and you close on it, we have a 10% referral fee on your first year of engagement with that client. If you obtain a lead on your own, you do not pay a referral fee.
How do I generate leads for my coaching business? +
Our coaches work hard to create and develop their own brand. This allows each coach to identify their unique offering and position in the market. You can leverage your current network of relationships, attract clients through speaking engagements, create original content, and collaborate with fellow coaches or thought-leaders. In addition, we offer extensive marketing resources to help with your lead gen campaigns. But the best advice we have is to be a life-long learner. Curiosity and persistance will always lead to more business.
What is the typical duration of an engagement, and what are the terms? +
This varies by coach and by client. There is not a one size fits all answer. Some engagements are one day workshops. Many clients will retain your services for multiple years and sign an annual contract. Annual engagements often start with a 12-month initial term. You can choose an auto-renew option, or go year-to-year.
Does the organization impose the coaching fee structure? +
No, we encourage coaches to price based on value to the company vs an hourly/daily rate.
What is the average revenue per client? +
This depends largely on experience, but clients range from $3MM to $250MM, and we have clients across all industries.
How many clients that can be handled simultaneously by a single coach? +
Again, this depends on experience and where you are in your business. It also depends on if you're working with them in-person, virtually, or offering event-based workshops. Some coaches may work with 5 to 25+ clients at a time.
How many Scaling Up Coaches are there? +
Total we have over 270 Coaches spread out across the globe who are either certified, or currently in certification.
If I'm interested in just implementing the tools or gaining more knowledge to use in my own business, what would you suggest? +
We partner with Growth Institute and they offer the Master Business Course, which is geared towards the business owner, CEO and Leadership team.
