About
I’m on a mission to help nonprofit leaders spend way more time changing the world than running their organizations.

I led my first team at 17 when I got promoted to shift manager at McDonald’s. Since then, I’ve run restaurants, hotels, businesses, and nonprofit programs between $5M and $60M. I’ve led dozens of large and small teams doing marketing, communications, program development, evaluation, global partnerships, technology, collective impact, and data stuff.

The common denominator across all those experiences was rapid growth. During those experiences, I realized two things about growth-oriented organizations:
1) You’ve gotta have a simple system in place that is deeply ingrained in the culture and operations of the team.
2) Demanding a one-size-fits-all system doesn’t work. But haphazard doesn’t work either. Fortunately, there are some universal growth principles that can be easily and quickly adapted with any team.

I’m obsessed with helping teams reach their full potential. Especially teams that wake up every day to help change the world. I also believe that nothing lasts if it’s not done from a place of gratitude and joy.

My Bachelors and Masters degrees are in writing and communications, but I also have a certificate in Systems Thinking from Cornell University and am a certified coach in the Scaling Up system.
