About
Chip Gallent learned a lesson long ago from one of his heroes: Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life. It’s been his mantra throughout his career, and he’s passionate about sharing this guiding philosophy with each of his member companies at Petra Coach.

Before joining Petra, Chip led multiple businesses across a wide variety of verticals. He held C-level roles at companies ranging from a Nashville-based non-profit to a technology development firm, and was president of a publicly-traded dot.com company. Chip worked for many years in marketing and advertising and, as an entrepreneur, ran his own technology consulting/business strategy practice. He also was a member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization in the mid-2000s.

During his work with the Nashville non-profit, Chip was part of the executive team that transformed the organization’s corporate culture, resulting in the company being named “Best Place to Work” by the Nashville Business Journal in 2016 and 2017 and a “Top Workplace” by the Tennessean in 2017.

• Held positions including President, Director, COO and Founder in various companies.
• Turned around a struggling online game and movie rental company and scaled it from $250k in revenue to nearly $4 million in less than three years.
• Spent nearly 15 years consulting in operations, management, marketing and I/T and worked with clients spanning many different business sectors.

Personal Highlights
Outside of work, Chip can be found playing lead guitar in his current band, Sweet Baby James: A Tribute to James Taylor. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Chip has called the Nashville area home since 1993. He and his wife, Suzanne, love to travel with her son Tommy, their son Dylan, and their rescued golden retriever Carly.
